Shelters post lists of pets they can no longer hold. We keep those lists in one place, updated through the day, so rescues and fosters can act in time.
What the labels mean. These come from what each shelter posts about a pet or its list.
Most urgent. The shelter's own posting flags this pet as immediate, or gives a deadline within 3 days. Euthanasia can be imminent. If you can help, act now.
The shelter lists a deadline within about a week (roughly 4 to 7 days). Time is short.
The pet is on a shelter's at-risk list with a deadline more than a week out, or no specific date posted. Still needs a rescue or foster.
The shelter is over capacity and has flagged this list. Individual deadlines may not be posted, but crowding raises the risk for pets here.
Shelters across the country keep lists of the pets they can no longer hold. Those lists are where the clock is loudest, and they sit scattered across hundreds of separate shelter websites, PDFs, and social posts where a rescuer in the right place at the right time might never see them. Last Chance Pet pulls those lists into one place and keeps them current through the day, so a foster or rescue can find a pet near them before the shelter runs out of options.
We show what shelters publish, nothing more. Every listing links back to the shelter so you can act on it directly, and the urgency labels come straight from what each shelter posts. If you can foster, adopt, or pull a pet, this is built to get you to the ones running out of time first.
The most useful thing you can do costs nothing. Every share puts these pets in front of someone who might foster, adopt, or pull one in time.
If this site helped you find, foster, or pull a pet, or you see something we should fix, write us a note. We read every one.

We email you when a matching pet is posted. Every alert has an unsubscribe link.
Some states are not listed yet. We only show shelters that publish their own at-risk lists, and many states do not post one in a searchable format. We are adding more over time, so check back.
